Welcome to Hawkins Family Beef! We're the Hawkins: Ty and Rachel, two daughters Henley and Becca, our Border Collies Bo and Belle, and a bunch of horses and cows. We own and operate our farm and cow-calf operation in Weiser, Idaho, where Ty was born and raised. Ty has owned his own cattle since high school and is always looking for ways to expand our farming and cattle operation. Rachel was raised on a row-crop farm in Ontario, Oregon, and is the brains behind the direct-to-consumer beef business. Our daughters, Henley and Becca love riding horses, tagging calves, moving cows, and playing with the dogs. Bo and Belle love to move cows and sleep on the couch whenever they can.
We run cow-calf pairs in Weiser and surrounding areas. Our beef steers are Angus/Hereford crosses and are in our care from birth to butchering. They graze with their mothers until weaning at eight months. Our cattle graze from Weiser to New Meadows, Idaho and are moved by horses and dogs or occasionally on our semi-truck. The cows are never on a long-haul truck. At weaning time, our beef steers are fed hay, silage, and dry corn until they are ready for butchering. We raise all cattle feed on our farm, right here in Weiser! When you buy from Hawkins Family Beef, you are supporting a small, family-owned-and-operated farm and getting high-quality beef in return.
